Nathan Garrett makes KC Magazine’s top 100 List
KC Magazine has named Graves Garrett partner Nathan Garrett to its top 100 list, which highlights “people who are doing cool things in and for Kansas City.” The magazine cites Garrett’s unique background as a litigator, assistant U.S. attorney and as a special agent for the FBI as the main reason for his inclusion on the list, which is made up of people who are truly passionate about what they do, the magazine reports.
“He had been working with the U.S. Attorney’s office in Dallas in the late 1990s, which was investigating some of the nation’s marquee cases in counterterrorism,” the magazine explains. Specifically, Garrett was one of only a handful of agents pursuing criminal prosecution of counterterrorism matters prior to 9/11, after which he continued, along with his FBI and U.S. Attorney colleagues, to pursue criminal interdiction as a means of fighting this threat to the nation’s security. These efforts culminated in Garrett’s service as a trial team prosecutor for the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history.
Today, Garrett applies that unique experience and judgment, and his impassioned commitment, to his current representation of individual and corporate clients facing federal and state criminal, civil or regulatory investigations and litigation, false claims act disputes, commercial litigation and internal investigations.
