Todd Graves Appointed President of Boy Scouts of America Pony Express Council
Graves Garrett LLC is pleased to announce that Partner Todd Graves has been named as president of the Pony Express Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Graves, a longtime Council member, previously served as executive vice-president.
As president, Graves will serve as the highest officer and volunteer leader within the Council while also serving as chair at meetings of the council body, council executive board and council executive committee. In addition, he will act as representative to the National Council and regional committee during his term.
The Pony Express Council is comprised of five districts and serves approximately 3,000 youth across regions of Kansas and Missouri. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Council and the 106th anniversary of the National Boy Scouts.
“The Pony Express Council of the Boy Scouts of America has been developing today’s youth and tomorrow’s leaders for 100 years,” said Graves, who is an Eagle Scout and is also raising his sons as active Scouts. “I am honored by the opportunity to serve in this new leadership capacity, and I look forward to continuing to advance the mission of the Pony Express Council in the coming year.”
Graves was named President after having served previously as executive vice president of the Council, which serves more than 290 Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, Venturing Crews and Explorer Posts in Missouri and Kansas.
In addition to his role with the Pony Express Council, Graves is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Royal Association, a nonprofit youth education organization. He is also a founding board member of the Kansas City Missouri Police Foundation, which researches and analyzes strategies to further reduce the incidence of violent crime in Kansas City.
Before forming Graves Garrett, Todd also served as the United States Attorney for the Western District of Missouri, a position to which he was appointed by the President of the United States after having been twice elected as Platte County Prosecuting Attorney. At the time of his election in 1994, he was the youngest full-time prosecuting attorney in Missouri.
