Simpson re-elected to LAKC Young Lawyers Section board

Graves Garrett attorney Alan Simpson was recently re-elected as Secretary for the Young Lawyers Section (YLS) of the Lawyers Association of Kansas City.

As Secretary, Simpson helps administer YLS in furtherance of its four cornerstone ideals: service of the public interest, service to younger lawyers, education of the public, and cooperation with legal and civic organizations. YLS annual events include organizing rounds of the Missouri State High School Mock Trial Competition; Santa’s Snow Ball, an annual event providing a holiday meal, party, and presents for area homeless families; the Skippy & Skivvies Drive, a collection of peanut butter and diapers for Operation Breakthrough; a college scholarship program; and other service events.

Simpson is an associate at Graves Garrett in the firm’s Commercial and Business Litigation, White Collar Criminal Defense, and Free Speech & Election Law practice groups. He received Missouri Lawyers Weekly’s 2017 Up & Coming award and has twice been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in Missouri and Kansas. He focuses his practice on litigation and counseling involving both corporate and political clients. He is admitted before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and the state and federal courts in Missouri and Kansas.
