Graves Garrett is a nationally recognized, award-winning law firm based in Kansas City. From representing benchmark clients in complex civil litigation to high-stakes white collar defense and leading-edge constitutional advocacy, there is no practice in the region quite like ours. We have Midwest roots, but our boutique practice extends nationwide.
Our success is founded on our people. We recruit the brightest attorneys with strong academic records and an emphasis on integrity. We welcome recent law school graduates with outstanding credentials and experienced lawyers with a demonstrated success in the profession. We consider federal or state clerkships to be highly valuable experience.
Unlike many firms, our attorneys assume responsibility for sophisticated work early in their careers. Associates are involved in every stage of a case. We also encourage our associates to assume forward-facing roles by interacting with clients and, when appropriate for the case, engaging with the media. With frequent high-stakes matters, our attorneys advocate for clients both in and outside of the courtroom.
Our compensation package is competitive. Associates receive a base salary and are eligible to receive a productivity bonus for hours worked after 1,800. Associates receive other benefits as well: optional health and dental insurance; a retirement plan with a company match; paid maternity leave; paid time off for vacation sick days and holidays; covered parking; paid CLEs and bar memberships; and a firm-provided laptop and cell phone.
Finally, while our attorneys have fulfilling careers at the firm, we also understand that our work presents opportunities for some attorneys beyond the firm. We believe in supporting that growth, not stifling it. Our network of alumni have successfully leveraged their firm experiences and relationships into distinguished positions as corporate counsel, federal prosecutors, and government advisors. We take pride in their continued successes.
