Graves Garrett grows bench with Katie Graves joining firm as associate attorney

Graves Garrett LLC is pleased to announce Katie Graves has joined the firm as an associate. Her practice will focus on complex commercial litigation, white collar criminal defense, and government investigations, with particular emphases on constitutional law and federal courts issues.

Most recently, Graves clerked for the Hon. Andrew S. Oldham in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit following stints as a summer associate in the Washington, D.C., offices of two Am Law 100 firms in 2020 and 2021. At those firms, she worked on both trial and appellate matters.

Graves’ internships have included time with the Kansas City (Missouri) Police Department General Counsel, the Hon. Roseann A. Ketchmark in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, and the Executive Office of the Governor of Missouri.

“Katie brings significant expertise in the complex federal courts and constitutional issues that we confront every day in venues all across the country,” Graves Garrett partner Eddie Greim said. “Her creativity, energy, intelligence, and special style of advocacy are going to make a difference for a wide range of clients and in a variety of our more difficult cases.”

A native of a farm north of Kansas City, Graves completed her undergraduate studies in journalism at the University of Missouri before earning her law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif and served as an executive editor for the Virginia Law Review.
